On August 10, the Hang Seng Indexes Company issued a market consultation on the proposed revision to the compilation methodology of the Hang Seng Tech Index, aiming to expand the number of constituent stocks from the current 30 to 50 and introduce a dual-track stock selection mechanism based on a "market cap group plus revenue growth group". Under this framework, 40 constituents will be selected from the market cap rankings of eligible technology stocks, while the remaining 10 will be drawn from companies outside the top 40 market cap rankings that demonstrate rapid revenue growth. This reform also broadens the scope of technology themes covered, potentially enhancing the representation of emerging tech sectors such as AI and advanced hardware in the index.
Against this backdrop, XUNCE (03317) is expected to be a potential beneficiary of the upcoming expansion of the Hang Seng Tech Index. According to institutional estimates, XUNCE is listed among the potential candidates in the "high revenue growth group", with its latest revenue growth rate reaching 103.3%. The company falls under the artificial intelligence theme, aligning with the reform's direction to strengthen the representation of high-growth tech enterprises. From a performance perspective, on July 31, XUNCE announced a profit alert for the first half of 2026: the company expects first-half revenue to reach 967 million yuan, a surge of 389% year-on-year, hitting a new record high for the period. Net profit attributable to shareholders is projected at 72.51 million yuan, compared to a net loss of 89 million yuan in the same period last year, marking the first half-year profitability. Adjusted net profit stands at 67 million yuan, versus a net loss of 105 million yuan in the prior year, indicating a significant turnaround from losses to profits. Core operational quality has notably improved, signaling that the company has officially transitioned from an investment phase into a profit release channel.
The company attributes the strong performance to five key drivers: the release of enterprise AI deployment demand, accelerated penetration across diverse industries, faster deployment of the TokenOS product, implementation of the Token business model, and the expansion of international business along with ecosystem development. Analysts point out that if XUNCE is ultimately included in the Hang Seng Tech Index, it could not only boost the company's market visibility within the Hong Kong-listed tech sector but also attract passive allocation funds from index-tracking funds. Citic Securities estimates that upon completion of the current Hang Seng Tech Index expansion, the potential newly added stocks collectively could bring approximately 36 billion Hong Kong dollars in passive fund inflows, with about 7.5 billion Hong Kong dollars allocated to the revenue growth group.
