Sichuan Province's First-Half GDP Growth Outpaces National Average, Lithium Battery Output Soars

Official data from the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Statistics reveals that the province's gross domestic product for the first half of 2026 reached 3.362945 trillion yuan.

This figure represents a year-on-year increase of 4.8% when calculated using constant prices, which is 0.1 percentage points higher than the national average growth rate over the same period.

A detailed breakdown of the GDP shows the primary industry, or agriculture, contributed 195.346 billion yuan, marking a 3.6% increase.

The secondary industry, which includes manufacturing and construction, achieved an added value of 1.164108 trillion yuan, growing by 4.9%.

The tertiary sector, encompassing services, recorded the largest share at 2.003492 trillion yuan, with growth also at 4.8%.

Examining specific industrial products reveals particularly strong performances in several high-tech and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The output of lithium-ion batteries surged by 62.7% compared to the same period last year, leading the growth.

Production of smart televisions also saw a significant rise, increasing by 52.2%.

Integrated circuit output grew by 18.6%, while the production of industrial robots expanded by 15.7%.
