MMG (01208) saw its shares open more than 5% higher in early trading, with the stock last trading up 5.62% at HK$9.49, on a turnover of HK$33.04 million. The company reported its interim results for the first half of 2026, posting revenue of US$4.54 billion, a 61% year-on-year increase. After-tax profit surged 141% to US$1.366 billion, while profit attributable to equity holders jumped 164% to US$897 million, setting new half-year records.
The miner's copper production reached 2.6665 million tonnes during the period, the highest first-half level since 2018. The Las Bambas mine delivered a strong performance, with copper concentrate containing 210,195 tonnes of copper. Revenue from the asset rose 65% to US$3.3 billion. MMG has maintained its production guidance for 2026, with copper output expected to be between 493,000 and 528,000 tonnes, and zinc production forecast in the range of 215,000 to 235,000 tonnes.
