The China finals of the 2026 World Latte Art Championship concluded on April 2nd. As the world's second-largest coffee competition, the 2026 season progressed through five major cities: Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Nanjing. A total of 25 contestants advanced to the finals, with Liu Guoqiang ultimately claiming the championship title. He will represent China internationally, competing for the world champion title on the global stage of the World Latte Art Championship.
Notably, the competition exclusively used Nestlé Professional's NESCAFÉ Espresso Roast coffee beans throughout the event. As a multi-channel integrated supplier, Nestlé Professional consistently offers comprehensive, professional freshly-ground coffee solutions for commercial clients.
Public records indicate that since its entry into Pu'er, Yunnan in 1988, Nestlé has established the region as a significant base for its coffee industry development in China. In 1992, Nestlé set up an agronomy services department in Yunnan, providing local coffee farmers with complimentary full-chain technical guidance covering site selection, seedling cultivation, variety improvement, fresh cherry processing, and quality assessment.
Building on this foundation, Nestlé utilizes advanced roasting techniques to ensure consistent flavor profiles and oil extraction performance across different batches of its roasted coffee bean series.
Since 2015, 100% of the coffee beans Nestlé sources from Yunnan have achieved 4C sustainability certification, covering nearly 200,000 mu of cultivation area. This initiative has helped over 1,000 partners obtain international certification, benefiting approximately 30,000 coffee farmers. Through the "Nescafé Plan 2030," Nestlé has been promoting regenerative agricultural transformation in Yunnan since 2021, advocating for water-saving irrigation, shade tree planting, and biodiversity conservation.
Lü Hang, Vice President of Nestlé Greater China and Head of Nestlé Professional, stated: "Batch-to-batch consistency of competition coffee beans is crucial. We aim to leverage Nestlé's global supply chain and nearly four decades of experience in Yunnan's coffee sector to provide competitors with stable, reliable quality assurance. Simultaneously, we seek to use professional competitions as a bridge to continuously drive the Chinese coffee market toward more specialized and quality-focused development."
