Elon Musk stated in a post on X on Thursday, "I may ultimately pay more than $500 billion in taxes, including estate taxes." Venture capitalist Marc Andreessen responded, "Elon is being modest as usual. The actual figure could be closer to $5 trillion, or even higher."

Andreessen added, "And that's just the taxes he pays personally. His companies will pay at least the same amount again. On top of that, there are the taxes paid by his employees, investors, and so on." Musk replied, "True."
