On the morning of January 27, news emerged that the Yonghui Superstores outlet in Beijing's Hongkun Plaza has suddenly suspended operations. This store had just undergone renovations and reopened in late March of last year, making this suspension less than a year after its refurbishment. Related reports indicated that the shopping center stated that since the completion of the Yonghui Superstores Hongkun Plaza outlet's renovations, Yonghui has failed to pay any rent, property management fees, water and electricity charges, advertising space usage fees, and other associated costs. Throughout the period of Yonghui's alleged arrears, the shopping center continued to provide normal water and electricity supply.
In response, Yonghui Superstores issued a statement clarifying that the suspension of operations at this outlet was due to the property owner, without effective communication or mutual agreement with Yonghui, unilaterally and repeatedly implementing measures such as cutting off water and heating supplies starting January 15, 2026, thereby obstructing the store's normal business operations. On January 23, Yonghui attempted to resume operations by transporting water via water trucks to the receiving area and manually carrying water buckets into the store. However, the property owner responded by blocking all customer access points to the store, including sealing off escalators, elevators, and using barriers, ultimately forcing the store to close. The property owner's claim of an "unauthorized closure" severely contradicts the aforementioned facts.
Regarding the issue of related fees, Yonghui Superstores clarified that some of the amounts mentioned in the property owner's statement lack contractual or factual basis. Furthermore, due to external debt disputes involving Beijing Hongkun Weiye Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., the company had previously received relevant court documents instructing it to suspend rent payments to protect creditors' interests. The contents of these documents were communicated to the lessor and relevant parties at the time of receipt, and the lessor and relevant parties were already aware of this information. The company has consistently maintained a proactive attitude in cooperating with the court, creditors, the lessor, and relevant parties to resolve the issue. Therefore, the property owner's claim of rent arrears is inaccurate.
Yonghui Superstores' statement mentioned that the company deeply regrets the accusations in the counterparty's statement that do not align with the actual situation and solemnly reserves the right to pursue legal action against the relevant parties according to the law. What is most disheartening in this incident is the disappointment caused to the customers and employees who have long supported the store. Following last year's renovations and upgrades at the Hongkun Plaza outlet, team morale and service quality had significantly improved, and the store had been serving the community for nearly 10 months. All employees were fully dedicated and preparing for the Spring Festival service peak. The sudden suspension of operations due to external forces has not only dashed the efforts and expectations of the employees but has also caused significant inconvenience to our trusting customers. The company deeply apologizes for this and has arranged for staff to be on-site to provide explanations and guidance to customers.
Yonghui Superstores stated that currently, all other Yonghui Superstores outlets in Beijing are operating normally. For the Hongkun Plaza outlet, the company is still actively communicating with relevant parties, making every effort to strive for the store's early resumption of operations and to continue fulfilling its commitment to serving the community. The company will continue to uphold a responsible attitude, legally protect its legitimate rights and interests, fully safeguard the legitimate interests of customers and employees, and promptly report on the progress of the incident.
