On April 2, during a live broadcast, Great Wall Motor Chairman Wei Jianjun pointed out that the primary issue facing Chinese racing drivers is their "strong commercial orientation." He explained that the central goal for many Chinese drivers is often focused on finishing races and achieving the best possible results, rather than pursuing ultimate competitive breakthroughs. According to Wei, a strong commercial mindset means drivers prioritize completing events and securing respectable finishing positions above all else.
Wei Jianjun further elaborated that if a competition consists of ten stages and a Chinese driver withdraws by the third stage, associated advertising benefits cannot be guaranteed. This reality, he noted, significantly limits drivers' willingness to take risks and compete more aggressively.
