Party Members Cultivate Small Vegetable Gardens to Green the Countryside: Laojizhai Township Delivers Real Service Through Themed Party Day Activities

Deep News10-22 23:00

During the critical autumn planting season, Laojizhai Township recently organized more than 20 Party member volunteers from township, village, and group-level Party organizations to enter the "small vegetable garden" in Shapu Village, carrying out a themed Party day practice activity focused on "planting vegetables, adding greenery, and fencing the garden."

Party members bent over the field ridges to plant vegetable seedlings and worked together to reinforce the garden fence, both enriching the public's "vegetable basket" and beautifying the village's "micro-landscape." Through the "small vegetable garden," they empowered green and beautiful rural construction and solidly carried out the "I do practical things for the masses" practice activity.

The "small vegetable garden" in Shapu Village was built on idle plots in front of and behind houses. It serves both as a "heartwarming field" that ensures nearby residents have a daily vegetable supply and as a "micro-node" for village environmental improvement.

Previously, the gaps in the garden fence were relatively large, and free-ranging poultry often got in to peck at vegetable seedlings, which not only affected vegetable growth but also damaged the overall appearance of the garden. After learning about the situation through visits, Laojizhai Township listed it as a practical matter for the people, coordinated arrangements through the themed Party day, and assigned township government Party member cadres to take the lead, with Party members from the Bailezhai Village Party General Branch and the Shapu Village Party Branch participating together. They set the themed Party day in the fields and promoted green and beautiful rural construction down to the small vegetable gardens and small corners around the masses.

At the activity site, Party member volunteers divided their work and cooperated in an orderly manner. One group turned over the soil and dug holes to plant seedlings, seizing the favorable autumn planting opportunity to plant cabbage, scallions, garlic, and other common vegetable seedlings; another group carried bamboo stakes, iron wire, and fencing nets, reinforced and repaired the loose and damaged fence section by section, and added dense netting at the bottom to prevent poultry from entering the garden and damaging the seedlings. During breaks in the work, Party members exchanged garden management and protection techniques with villagers and listened to their opinions and suggestions on vegetable plot zoning and crop rotation arrangements.

After everyone worked together, the garden fence was neat and sturdy, and the newly planted seedlings formed tidy rows and ridges. The once "dusty and shabby" corner was transformed into a clean and orderly "micro-farmstead."

"The fence is repaired and the seedlings are planted, but the key is still to manage them well and make them grow well," said Pu Qingming, secretary of the Shapu Village Party Branch. He stated that taking this activity as an opportunity, the village will follow the principle of "whoever benefits, manages and protects" and implement Party member claiming and mass adoption, regularly inspect the condition of the fence and the growth of the seedlings, and repair damage promptly to ensure that what is "built well" is also "kept well."

At the same time, in conjunction with themed Party days and new era civilization practice activities, Party members and the masses will be organized in a timely manner to participate together in weeding, fertilizing, and harvesting, so that the "small vegetable garden" can continue to produce and benefit the people over the long term, and promote the transformation of human settlement improvement from "beautiful for a while" to "beautiful for the long term."

A small vegetable garden, with all three levels working together, connects the hearts of Party and the masses and brings cadres and the people closer. From "planting it" to "fencing it in," from "beautiful for a while" to "managed for the long term," Laojizhai Township has used visible and tangible small practical matters to transform the Party organization's organizational strength into a sense of happiness that the masses can feel and access.

Next, Laojizhai Township will continue to deepen the "township-village-group" three-level coordinated service mechanism, focus on the small, urgent, and difficult matters around the masses, and write "I do practical things for the masses" in the fields and into the hearts of the people, using the practical brushstrokes in the small vegetable garden to write a "major article" on rural governance and serving the people.
