The "15th Five-Year Plan" for integrated development within the Chengdu metropolitan area has been officially released, setting a bold economic target for the end of the decade.

According to the plan, by 2030, the region's role as a primary growth engine is expected to be significantly strengthened, with a marked improvement in the level of urban-rural integration. Specifically, the plan targets a gross domestic product (GDP) of 3.95 trillion yuan for the entire metropolitan area.

Furthermore, the combined GDP of the four core cities—Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan, and Ziyang—is projected to reach 4.1 trillion yuan. The initiative also aims to maintain a stable permanent resident population while continuously raising the urbanization rate across the region.
