A new project combining solid-state battery pack intelligent manufacturing with an electric heavy truck logistics park has been launched in the Xifeng Industrial Park, marking a significant step for the city's integrated development of computing and electric power.
The project, with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, is jointly funded by Beijing Weilan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Xinghan Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Shaanxi Jiansheng Taiben Investment Co., Ltd.. It is designed to add both intelligence and green credentials to the city's compute and power integration strategy.
Covering a planned area of 150 mu, the project is divided into two main sub-projects. The first is the Qingyang Solid-State Battery Pack Intelligent Manufacturing Factory, which will occupy about 50 mu with an investment of 600 million yuan. It will use globally leading solid-state battery manufacturing technology, aiming for an annual production capacity of 3 GWh. The second is the Qingyang Electric Heavy Truck Logistics Park, covering about 100 mu with an investment of 900 million yuan. This park will utilize the vehicle-grade solid-state battery packs produced by the factory to upgrade the city's fleet of approximately 60,000 diesel heavy trucks to electric power.
At the core of the project, the Qingyang Solid-State Battery Pack Intelligent Manufacturing Factory focuses on the R&D and规模化 production of solid-liquid hybrid battery packs. Its products are divided into three series—energy storage, automotive, and household—making them suitable for the diverse application scenarios of Northwest China. The batteries offer key advantages such as high safety, wide temperature range adaptability, long lifespan, and low maintenance costs.
Once completed, the factory will fill a gap in the solid-state battery manufacturing industry in Northwest China, providing crucial support for the regional "East Computing West Data" project, the consumption of new energy, and the electrification of heavy-duty transportation. It will help build a green industry ecosystem that integrates computing and electricity.
The project is expected to have an electrical load of 8,000 kW and an annual electricity consumption of 15 million kWh. It is projected to generate annual sales revenue of 1.8 billion yuan and tax revenue of 80 million yuan, while creating over 300 jobs. After full operation, it will coordinate with new energy companies in the Xifeng Industrial Park, promoting the integrated development of "clean energy power generation—solid-state energy storage for peak shaving—green computing power hosting." This will optimize the region's industrial structure and new energy industry ecosystem.
