Shares of LEADS BIOLABS-B (09887) rose nearly 6% in early trading, last up 5.71% at HK$56.45 with a turnover of HK$75.0476 million.
On August 3, the company announced that China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) had granted Investigational New Drug (IND) approval for its self-developed candidate, Weilisin (PD-L1/4-1BB bispecific antibody, LBL-024), for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC).
The approved trial is an open-label, multicenter Phase Ib/II study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Weilisin in combination therapy for mCRC.
This milestone marks a significant expansion of the drug's indications in gastrointestinal cancers, extending the company's immuno-oncology pipeline from biliary tract cancer (BTC), gastric cancer (GC), and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) into colorectal cancer (CRC), a field with high unmet clinical need.
