On July 24, the second phase of the Changle Urban Wastewater Treatment Plant officially commenced operations. The project, with a total investment of approximately 178 million yuan, spans 54 mu (about 3.6 hectares).
Changle Urban Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase 2 is primarily responsible for collecting and treating domestic and industrial wastewater from the Changle main urban area, as well as Yingqian, Shouzhan, Yutian, and Liren districts. The facility currently serves a population of 435,000.
The plant, located in Xiazhu Village, Hangcheng Street, west of Taiping Port, began construction in October 2023. It is designed with a total treatment capacity of 40,000 tons per day, with initial equipment installed for a 20,000-ton-per-day standard configuration.
Utilizing a combined process of modified AAO biological treatment, high-efficiency sedimentation, cloth filter filtration, and sodium hypochlorite disinfection, the plant's effluent quality strictly meets the Class 1A discharge standard of the "Pollutant Discharge Standards for Urban Wastewater Treatment Plants."
Changle Urban Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase 2 establishes an integrated system for wastewater collection, transportation, and treatment. This will effectively address the existing wastewater treatment shortcomings in the area, continuously improve water environment quality, and consolidate the achievements of aquatic ecological restoration.
