Rumor: vivo Halts AI Glasses Project, Official Response Pending

Deep News01-22 22:50

Recent reports indicate that vivo has recently halted its AI glasses project, which had been in secret development for approximately six months. The company has yet to issue an official response regarding the matter.

According to the reports, vivo had already collaborated with several ODM manufacturers, including Goertek and Thundersoft, to develop demo units for the AI glasses project. The decision to suspend the project was reportedly made after several top executives, including Executive Vice President Hu Baishan, concluded that it would be "very difficult to achieve differentiation" for AI glasses in the current market.

In August 2025, vivo had launched its first MR headset, the vivo Vision Explorer Edition. However, a specific price was not announced at the time, nor was public sales initiated. Instead, the company made the product available for user trial bookings at official authorized experience stores in several cities, aiming to gather user feedback and improve the product based on real-world experience and word-of-mouth.
