UNITED LAB receives USD13.50 million milestone from Novo Nordisk for UBT251 Phase II trial; total potential payouts reach USD1.80 billion

On 15 July 2026, United Biotechnology (Zhuhai Hengqin) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of UNITED LAB (The United Laboratories International Holdings Limited), secured a milestone payment of USD13.50 million from Novo Nordisk following the launch of a global Phase II clinical trial for UBT251 targeting overweight and obesity indications. The payment is net of Danish withholding tax.

The milestone forms part of the Exclusive License Agreement announced on 24 March 2025, under which UNITED LAB has out-licensed UBT251, a triple agonist of GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors being developed for obesity, type 2 diabetes and related metabolic disorders.

According to the agreement, UNITED LAB is eligible to receive up to USD1.80 billion in aggregate development and commercial milestones, in addition to tiered royalties based on annual net sales of UBT251 in the licensed territories.

The Board confirmed receipt of the milestone and reiterated that subsequent payments remain contingent on the achievement of further clinical and sales milestones.
