Stock News01-09

GDS-SW (09698) surged more than 5% again, and as of writing, it was up 4.73% to HK$39.88, with a turnover of HK$160 million. On the news front, on January 5, DayOne Data Center, the international business platform under GDS, announced the successful completion of its Series C funding round, raising a total of $2 billion, with definitive agreements already signed. This funding round was led by existing investor Coatue Management, with participation from the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) and several other institutions from the United States, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, priced at a 100% premium compared to the previous round. DayOne explicitly stated that the proceeds from this round will primarily be used to accelerate its expansion strategy in two key markets: Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. In the European market, the funds will mainly be used to advance the construction of two hyperscale campuses in Lahti and Kouvola, Finland; in the Asia-Pacific region, the capital will support the company's continued expansion in the "Johor-Singapore-Riau" Growth Triangle, while accelerating its deployment in the Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong markets to rapidly deliver AI-ready infrastructure.
