Analyst Warns of Further Declines in S&P 500 Amid Rising Oil Prices

According to a commentary by Paul Chew from Phillip Securities Research, the S&P 500 index may face additional downside risks while oil prices continue to climb. The head of research noted that since the onset of the Middle East conflict, the S&P 500 has declined by 7.9% at its lowest point. In comparison, during the Kuwait War and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the index fell by as much as 17% at its trough. Chew added that, as a result, there is "room for further declines, especially if oil prices keep rising."
