The new period drama Mo Li, starring Bai Lu and Cheng Lei, officially premiered today. The series had previously announced that pre-release registrations across the Tencent Video and Weibo platforms surpassed five million, setting a new record for costume drama pre-orders on these platforms.

The plot follows the eldest daughter of the Ye household, Ye Li, who is married into the declining Dingwang Manor to wed its disabled lord, Mo Xiuyao. On the same day as her wedding, the Li Prince, Mo Jingli, marries Ye Li's younger sister, Ye Ying. As a descendant of the Li Mountain clan, Ye Li was once sealed away in the mountains for eight years. After her marriage, she appears compliant on the surface but secretly plots revenge, systematically eliminating the officials who once harmed her clan.

Her actions draw suspicion from her husband, Mo Xiuyao, who is also pursuing his own vendetta. Their separate machinations create significant turmoil beneath a facade of calm. Meanwhile, Mo Jingli, the Li Prince who was Ye Li's childhood friend and now bears the unflattering nickname "Opera Prince," secretly schemes to usurp the throne.

The story culminates with Ye Li joining forces with Mo Xiuyao to support the young emperor in consolidating power. Together, they thwart successive conspiracies by the Muyang Marquis and Prince Li, restoring peace and order to the realm.
