Indonesia's Communications and Informatics Ministry stated on Monday that coordination between the central bank, the government, and financial regulators "remains unchanged" following the resignation of Central Bank Governor Perry Warjiyo.
A statement released by the ministry assures that "investors, businesses, and the public can be confident that the direction of Indonesia's economic policy has not changed, and all necessary tools to maintain stability are in place and readily available." The central bank will continue to fully perform its statutory duties, and "there will be no policy vacuum or pause in operations."
Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti has automatically assumed the role of acting governor in accordance with established rules, rather than through a discretionary decision. A formal presidential decree regarding the appointment will be issued in due course. The President has expressed "gratitude and the highest appreciation" for Warjiyo's service during his tenure.
