U.S. federal prosecutor Jeannie Pirro has stated that she will continue to advance the investigation into cost overruns related to the renovation of the Federal Reserve building. Pirro is currently engaged in a legal dispute with the court as she attempts to serve subpoenas to the Federal Reserve as part of a criminal investigation. The probe focuses on the cost overruns and the testimony provided by Chair Powell before Congress regarding the matter. During a press conference on Wednesday, Pirro told reporters, "The overruns for this project have far exceeded $1 billion. The investigation is still ongoing. I am acting within the legal framework, while others are operating on a political track." Chief District Judge James Boasberg dismissed two grand jury subpoenas issued by Pirro in January earlier this year in March. Pirro reiterated that she will appeal the ruling.
