BlackRock's $470 Million Inflow Sets Stage for Bitcoin Breakout from Triangle Pattern

Stock News08:27

Institutional capital continues to reshape the Bitcoin market structure, with BlackRock (BLK.US) emerging as a key driver through its massive accumulation via the IBIT product, while the cryptocurrency's price consolidates within a tightening triangle pattern on the 4-hour chart, signaling an imminent directional move.

On-chain data from Onchain Lens reveals significant institutional activity this week. BlackRock (BLK.US) executed transfers totaling $478.5 million through its IBIT (IBIT.US) product, equivalent to the cumulative absorption of 7,320 Bitcoin, with all assets moved to wallets designated for the IBIT ETF. Notably, the largest single transaction involved 1,840 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $118.9 million, withdrawn from Coinbase Prime and transferred to a custody wallet. Such frequent asset custody changes may stem from settlement operations or portfolio adjustments, and while the purpose of individual transfers remains unclear, the cumulative weekly net inflows clearly indicate large institutions' positioning strategy at current levels, providing solid liquidity support for the market bottom.

The technical structure further confirms the market is in a consolidation phase. On the 4-hour timeframe, BTC is trading near $64,964, converging at the intersection of two key trendlines. The downward resistance line slopes from a high near $68,000 in July, while the upward support line steadily rises from around $61,000, forming a narrowing range. Within this structure, the price has repeatedly attempted to break above the resistance line but failed, keeping the market neutral. If bulls can push the price above the resistance line, the short-term structure would shift, with the $66,000 level emerging as a new reference point. Conversely, if the support line breaks, the price could fall to the $62,000-$63,000 range, testing market absorption capacity.

Momentum indicators and volume will be crucial in determining the breakout direction. The MACD stands at approximately 284, with the signal line near 275, while the histogram remains positive but with a narrow gap, indicating limited upward momentum. The RSI is at 61.86, with its moving average at 59.15, showing slightly above-neutral momentum without entering overbought territory, leaving room for further gains. However, volume has not increased significantly with the triangle's tightening, suggesting the consolidation lacks sufficient momentum confirmation. If additional capital enters and helps the price break the resistance line, it would form a valid bullish signal; otherwise, weak trading volume could lead to renewed downward pressure. This represents a key market battle, where technical factors and fund flows intersect following recent large-scale institutional allocation.
