Samsung Electronics Completes Acquisition of German HVAC Manufacturer FlaktGroup

Deep News11-06

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced on Thursday that it has finalized the acquisition of German HVAC equipment manufacturer FlaktGroup.

In June this year, Samsung signed an agreement with European investment firm Triton to acquire 100% of the shares in the German heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) company for €1.5 billion (approximately $1.68 billion).

Samsung stated that it will leverage FlaktGroup's production and sales networks to expand R&D, strengthen supply chains, and gradually integrate products and services to maximize synergies.

FlaktGroup noted that through this acquisition, its subsidiaries—including Woods Air Movement, which provides ventilation and fire safety systems, and SEMCO, specializing in air handling and flow solutions—will also become part of Samsung Electronics.

Samsung Electronics is actively seeking new growth drivers in areas such as HVAC, robotics, medical technology, and consumer audio.

As part of this strategy, the company has been expanding its HVAC business, with a focus on ductless systems for residential and commercial applications.

In May 2024, Samsung Electronics formed a joint venture with Lennox International to accelerate its HVAC business in North America.
