Listed Automakers' December Sales: Total Vehicle Sales Exceed 2.225 Million Units; JAC Motors, SERES, and Jiangling Motors Accelerate Sales Growth

Major automotive manufacturers have recently disclosed their sales data for December. Based on monthly sales data announcements from primary automakers listed on A-shares and H-shares, statistics have been compiled for their total vehicle and new energy vehicle sales.

According to compiled announcement data, 20 listed automotive manufacturers disclosed sales data for December. In December 2025, these 20 companies collectively sold approximately 2.2255 million vehicles, representing a year-on-year decrease of 7.64%. Compared to November, companies such as JAC Motors, SERES, and Jiangling Motors Corporation, Ltd. experienced an acceleration in their sales growth rate for December, while the growth rates for companies like Shuguang Stock and Zhongtong Bus slowed down.

Furthermore, 16 companies disclosed sales data for new energy vehicles, including passenger and commercial vehicles. In December, they collectively sold approximately 1.2532 million new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 1.99%, resulting in a penetration rate of about 58% for that month. Among them, BYD Company Limited, SAIC Motor, and Geely Auto held leading sales positions, while BAIC BluePark, JAC Motors, Dongfeng Motor Group, and Foton Motor achieved growth rates exceeding 70%.

In December 2025, the 20 listed automakers collectively achieved total vehicle sales of 2.2255 million units, marking a year-on-year decline of 7.64% and a month-on-month decrease of 6.77%. For the full year 2025, these 20 companies sold over 23.5 million vehicles in total, representing a year-on-year increase of 8.86%.

Data shows that in December, BYD led with monthly sales of 420,400 vehicles, followed by SAIC Motor, Changan Automobile, and Geely Auto. Regarding year-on-year growth rates, BAIC BluePark's vehicle sales surged by over 100%, while NIO and SERES saw growth exceeding 50%. Conversely, GAC GROUP and Shuguang Stock experienced sales declines of over 30%.

Compared to the year-on-year sales growth rates in November, companies including JAC Motors, SERES, and Jiangling Motors saw accelerated growth in December. In contrast, the growth rates for Shuguang Stock and Zhongtong Bus slowed down during the same period.

Changan Automobile sold a total of 254,800 vehicles in December 2025, with a year-on-year growth rate of 1.66%, which slowed compared to November. Sales of its self-owned brands reached 207,800 units in December, up 4.46% year-on-year, while its new energy vehicle sales amounted to 115,100 units, increasing by 26.02% year-on-year.

GAC GROUP sold a total of 187,500 vehicles in December 2025, a significant year-on-year decrease of 33.82%. Specifically, sales of GAC Trumpchi fell by 58.19% year-on-year, while sales of GAC Honda and GAC Aion both declined by over 30%.

For the full year 2025, BYD, SAIC Motor, and Geely Auto each achieved annual sales exceeding 3 million vehicles. XPeng Motors, BAIC BluePark, and Qianli Technology saw their annual sales increase by over 80%, whereas Shuguang Stock, GAC GROUP, and Li Auto experienced annual sales declines exceeding 10%.

According to the compiled announcement data, 16 listed automakers disclosed their new energy vehicle sales figures for December.

In December 2025, these 16 listed automakers collectively sold approximately 1.2532 million new energy vehicles, a slight year-on-year increase of 1.99% but a month-on-month decrease of 8.93%. The penetration rate of new energy vehicles for the month reached approximately 57.96%, down 0.85 percentage points from November. For the full year 2025, these 16 companies sold over 12.45 million new energy vehicles in total, a substantial year-on-year increase of 26.21%.

Data indicates that BYD, SAIC Motor, and Geely Auto led in December new energy vehicle sales with 420,400, 154,300, and 143,800 units sold, respectively. In terms of growth rates, BAIC BluePark achieved a year-on-year increase exceeding 100%, while JAC Motors, Dongfeng Motor Group, and Foton Motor saw growth rates surpass 70%. Conversely, Li Auto and Shuguang Stock experienced year-on-year sales declines of over 20%.

Compared to the year-on-year sales growth rates in November, JAC Motors and Foton Motor showed significant acceleration in their December growth rates. Meanwhile, the growth rates for SAIC Motor, GAC GROUP, and Shuguang Stock decreased by more than 25 percentage points in December.

Dongfeng Motor Group's total vehicle sales for December reached 199,200 units, a year-on-year increase of 3.12%. Its new energy vehicle sales for the month were 73,600 units, surging 71.11% year-on-year, with the growth rate accelerating by over 18 percentage points compared to November. From the beginning of the year to the end of December, the company's cumulative new energy vehicle sales reached 562,800 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 42.62%. On January 13, 2026, Dongfeng Motor Group announced that its proposal to privatize Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. through absorption and merger, distribute shares of Voyah Automobile, and delist the group had received approvals, filings, or registrations from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, along with other applicable government approvals related to the merger.

Li Auto sold a total of 44,200 vehicles in December 2025, a year-on-year decrease of 24.38%. Its cumulative sales from January to the end of December reached 406,300 units, reflecting an 18.81% year-on-year decline.

Regarding annual sales, BYD, Geely Auto, SAIC Motor, and Changan Automobile each surpassed 1 million units in annual new energy vehicle sales. XPeng Motors and Geely Auto achieved annual sales increases exceeding 90%.
