Strong Global Demand for AI Drives Significant Export Growth in Key Electronic Components

Official data reveals robust growth in the export of key electronic components during the first half of the year, driven by strong international demand.

At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on July 20th regarding industrial and information technology development for the first half of 2026, Wang Weiming, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted the surge in global demand for technologies such as artificial intelligence and the green energy transition.

He reported that, measured in Renminbi terms, export values for several key products saw substantial year-on-year increases.

Specifically, exports of integrated circuits grew by 88.7%, electronic components by 62.6%, and wind turbine generator sets by 35.6% in the first six months of the year.
