Zhang Deqin, born in September 1972 in Renhuai, Guizhou, has a long-standing career at Kweichow Moutai Group, including two tenures as head of Xijiu, a subsidiary. His professional timeline includes: - August 2000–April 2004: Director of the Second Brewing Workshop at Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. - April 2004–May 2010: Assistant General Manager of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. - May 2010–December 2011: Assistant General Manager of China Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd., concurrently serving as Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of Xijiu Co., Ltd. - December 2011–August 2018: Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of China Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd., and Party Secretary and Chairman of Xijiu Co., Ltd. - August 2018–June 2019: Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of China Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd.
After a brief departure from the liquor industry to serve as Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Guizhou Modern Logistics Industry Group, Zhang returned to Xijiu in 2022. In April 2024, he succeeded Ding Xiongjun as Chairman of Kweichow Moutai Group and its listed entity, Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., holding the position for a year and a half before this latest transition.
