The Hang Seng Index turned negative during the session.
Among the index constituents, Lenovo Group Ltd fell more than 6%, while PetroChina Co Ltd dropped over 5%. CNOOC Ltd, China Petroleum & Chemical Corp, Hua Hong Semiconductor Ltd, and WuXi AppTec Co Ltd each declined more than 4%. BeiGene Ltd slipped over 3%.
