The first Meituan rural children's playground in Linzhou County, Lhasa, has been completed and put into use at Kadong Kindergarten in Chundui Township. The project was coordinated by the 11th Suzhou Aid Team for Tibet, with funding from Meituan, One Foundation, and Hangzhou Ruhua.
This initiative not only strengthens the bond between Suzhou and Linzhou but also promotes the concept of "sports starting from childhood" during the National Games year. The new playground features shock absorption, drainage, and anti-slip functions, supporting various activities such as vaulting, rainbow parachute games, and maze exploration. It also includes a comprehensive sports equipment package for kindergartens, along with teacher training programs to enhance physical education and outdoor activities.
The vibrant and multifunctional playground provides rural children with an enriched sports environment and a brighter childhood. "The new playground allows teachers to guide children in learning sports skills and teamwork through games. The diverse activities have not only enriched the children's daily lives but also expanded teaching methods. The kids love the playground, and their happiness at school has significantly increased. We deeply appreciate the support from the Suzhou Aid Team and all donors," said the principal of Kadong Kindergarten.
The "Meituan Rural Children's Playground Public Welfare Plan," launched by Meituan in collaboration with One Foundation, has built 4,249 playgrounds across 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) as of October this year, benefiting 577,000 rural children. A second playground in Linzhou County is currently under construction at Pangduo Township Central Kindergarten and is expected to open next spring.
During the National Games, sports stars such as Wang Mengjie, Yi Siling, Zhang Na, and Zhang Yufei joined the "Champion's Hometown Public Welfare Initiative" to support children in their hometowns through practical actions.
