Hainan's Nuclear Energy Share to Exceed 50% by 2027

On January 27, during the "Representatives' Channel" session of the Fifth Session of the Seventh Hainan Provincial People's Congress, Wei Zhigang, a deputy to the Hainan Provincial People's Congress and Director of the China National Nuclear Corporation (Hainan) Market Development Department, as well as Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Hainan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., stated that by 2027, nuclear energy will account for over 50% of Hainan's energy mix.

This achievement will provide the most robust support for Hainan to achieve comprehensive, low-carbon, and high-quality green development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and beyond.

Subsequent major projects are also being accelerated.
