PetroChina Appoints Zhou Jian as Employee Director for Tenth Board Session, Effective 9 June 2026

PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina) has confirmed the election of Zhou Jian, 55, as the employee director for the company’s tenth board of directors. His term commenced on 9 June 2026 and will run concurrently with the duration of the current board session.

The appointment was determined through a company-wide employee representative vote, in accordance with the Company Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Guidelines for the Articles of Association of Listed Companies. As an employee director, Zhou’s election became effective immediately upon approval by the employees’ representative meeting and does not require ratification by the shareholders’ meeting.

Professional Profile • Current roles: Director of PetroChina’s Party and Masses’ Affairs Department; director of the corresponding department at parent company China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC); executive deputy secretary (minister) of the Party and Masses’ Affairs Department and directly affiliated party committee (United Front Work Department of the Party group); deputy director of the Party Organization Department; vice chairman of the CNPC labour union. • Previous experience (since September 2015): Held senior posts at Ningxia Petrochemical Company and Guangdong Petrochemical Company, including general manager, chairman and Party secretary. • Qualifications: Professor-level senior engineer; master’s degree (part-time studies).

Remuneration and Compliance PetroChina will execute a director’s service contract with Zhou; he will not receive additional director’s fees beyond remuneration tied to his existing employment positions. The company confirmed that Zhou: 1) has not served as a director of any other listed company in the past three years; 2) has no relationships with other directors, senior management, or substantial/controlling shareholders; 3) holds no PetroChina shares under Part XV of Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Ordinance.

Board Composition Update Following Zhou’s appointment, PetroChina’s board comprises: Chairman Dai Houliang; Vice Chairman & Non-executive Director Zhou Xinhuai; Non-executive Directors Duan Liangwei, Zhou Song, and Xie Jun; Executive Directors Ren Lixin, Zhang Daowei, and Song Dayong; Independent Non-executive Directors Ho Kevin King Lun, Yan Andrew Y., Liu Xiaolei, Zhang Yuxin, and Ng Kar Ling Johnny; and Employee Director Zhou Jian.
