DiDi Autonomous Driving announced the completion of its Series D funding round, raising a total of 2 billion yuan. The investment consortium includes Zhongguancun Science City Technology Growth Fund, Beijing Information Industry Development Investment Fund, Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund, GAC Group, Guangzhou Guanghua Fund, and DiDi. The funds will be allocated toward increasing AI research and development investment, accelerating L4 autonomous driving application deployment, and supporting high-quality development in the transportation industry.

Zhang Bo, Co-founder of DiDi and CEO of DiDi Autonomous Driving, stated that L4 autonomous driving technology represents one of the most significant technological transformations in the AI era over the next decade, promising substantial improvements in transportation safety, efficiency, and user experience. DiDi Autonomous Driving has accumulated nearly a decade of experience across three critical areas: AI, mass production, and operations. The company remains committed to responsible technological innovation, actively exploring new employment opportunities while steadily advancing autonomous driving development to contribute to the intelligent connected vehicle industry.

Since the beginning of this year, DiDi Autonomous Driving has initiated comprehensive, fully unmanned testing in Beijing and Guangzhou. The unmanned vehicles have demonstrated stable performance across complex transportation scenarios, including morning and evening rush hours, late-night conditions, and sudden rainfall. The next-generation factory-installed autonomous driving vehicles, jointly developed by DiDi Autonomous Driving and GAC Aion, are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2025, followed by demonstration applications in Beijing, Guangzhou, and other cities.
