Zhihu Launches "Gaokao Data Hub" Tool, Incorporating Employment Market Trends for the First Time

Deep News06-17

As this year's national college entrance exams conclude, the online platform Zhihu has launched its data tool "Gaokao Data Hub" for the second consecutive year. The tool is built on extensive data, including admissions trends from over 2,600 universities and enrollment information for more than 70,000 "university + major" combinations. It also integrates the latest salary data for 1,739 majors across 359 cities, providing candidates with precise reference points for university application decisions and future career planning.

A New Approach to University Application Guidance

Differing from traditional application advisory tools, the "Gaokao Data Hub" marks the first time employment market conditions have been incorporated into a comprehensive service system for applicants. It establishes a mapping model connecting "exam scores - university & major - salary prospects." Users can search historical admission score thresholds and ranking requirements, as well as access detailed information on real-world employment salaries by specific major and city, changes in labor supply and demand, and trends related to postgraduate studies and civil service examinations.

Access and Future Enhancements

Currently, the "Gaokao Data Hub" is available free of charge to all Zhihu users. In the future, Zhihu plans to enhance its "AI Intelligent Search" feature by integrating data on university admissions, employment salaries, and postgraduate pathways directly into search scenarios. This initiative aims to leverage the value of data in the AI era to assist students in making more informed and strategic decisions regarding their university applications.
