The "Salute to the Chinese Economy – Entrepreneurs' Night 2025" gala was held in Beijing on January 29. Liu Debing, Chairman of KNOWLEDGE ATLAS, attended to receive a tribute. IBM Greater China Chairman and General Manager Chen Xudong and CITIC Press Group Chairman Chen Wei witnessed the honor.
The tribute citation read: This honors a group of explorers who fear no hardship and dare to aim high. KNOWLEDGE ATLAS has made extraordinary efforts and accumulated profound expertise in foundational AI research and key technologies. At the crossroads of technological development, they rejected the simple path of following others, choosing instead the more challenging route of independent research and development. From their open-source models repeatedly topping international leaderboards to their technological achievements serving global developers and enterprises, KNOWLEDGE ATLAS has proven with solid technological footprints that China's AI innovation has the capability to define the cutting edge and participate in global competition and collaboration.
Chen Xudong stated that the first large language model he used was from KNOWLEDGE ATLAS, which was China's first large model launched for the market. He expressed his hopes and blessings for KNOWLEDGE ATLAS to achieve even greater success on its future path.
Chen Wei expressed his hope that in the new wave of technological revolution, China will always have its most outstanding entrepreneurs and most excellent tech business leaders.
In his acceptance speech, Liu Debing stated that KNOWLEDGE ATLAS started from a laboratory at Tsinghua University and has come this far; behind its journey from research to industry and to the market is a group of people committed to long-term, persistent investment.
He mentioned that enabling machines to think like humans has been the direction chosen by the KNOWLEDGE ATLAS team since its first day of establishment, a persistent vision and goal for its members.
"The 'Z' in KNOWLEDGE ATLAS is the last letter of the alphabet, representing the ultimate realm. We hope to reach the ultimate realm of intelligence in our exploration of AGI. I thank the team for their professionalism, patience, and long-termism," he said.
The following is a transcript of Liu Debing's speech: Hello everyone, I am Liu Debing, Chairman of KNOWLEDGE ATLAS. I am very happy to receive this honor. I believe this honor does not belong to me personally, but more so to the entire KNOWLEDGE ATLAS team.
KNOWLEDGE ATLAS started from a lab at Tsinghua University and has come this far. The journey from research to industry and to the market is powered by a group of people dedicated to long-term, persistent investment. This can even be described as stubborn dedication. Making machines think like humans is the direction the KNOWLEDGE ATLAS team chose from day one, our enduring vision and goal.
In 2021, we launched our own algorithmic architecture, GLM. Then, this year, the release of our GLM4.7 has enabled our model to rank among the world's leaders, laying a solid foundation for our push towards AGI.
The 'Z' in KNOWLEDGE ATLAS is the last letter of the alphabet, symbolizing the ultimate destination. We hope to reach the ultimate realm of intelligence in our exploration of AGI.
