Recently, the 2024 Gansu Provincial Excellence Awards for Innovative and Exemplary Cases in Cultural Promotion were announced. Among the winners, 20 projects were recognized as outstanding innovations, while 30 others were designated as exemplary cases. Notably, the project titled "Classic Revival: Digital Reproduction of Wensu Pavilion's 'Complete Library of Four Treasures' and IP Development," submitted by Reader Publishing and Media Co., Ltd., was selected as an outstanding innovation.
In July 2025, the digitalization project of Wensu Pavilion's 'Complete Library of Four Treasures' was completed, achieving high-standard processing and multiple rounds of quality checks for massive data (36,315 volumes, over 2.44 million pages). The resulting standardized digital files are suitable for high-fidelity reproduction and diverse applications. During the editing and proofreading phases, the project team meticulously categorized and documented issues related to bibliographic records, transcriptions, dates, and authorship, enriching the study of Wensu Pavilion's edition. Rigorous academic, technical, and professional standards were upheld, including comparative analysis with other published editions, ensuring a high-quality reproduction in both content and functionality.
By early December 2025, the first printed edition of Wensu Pavilion's 'Complete Library of Four Treasures' (Classics Section) was finalized and is set for publication. Concurrently, the team developed an innovative digital resource—the Wensu Pavilion 'Complete Library of Four Treasures' Cultural IP Database. This initiative systematically organizes the data, identifying distinctive creative elements such as original texts, typography, calligraphy, illustrations, and annotations. Each element is annotated, interpreted, and designed for potential product applications, fostering IP incubation and expansion. The result is a dynamic, well-structured, and versatile IP library centered on this cultural treasure.
