Data compiled by "Liquor Price Insider" over the past 24 hours shows that the total retail prices of key baijiu products in China's market rose again on August 8. If one bottle of each major product is bundled together, the total selling price today stands at 9,908 yuan, a sharp increase of 55 yuan from yesterday, marking a new high since early July. The warming trend in the overall baijiu price index continues, with terminal market sentiment fully turning bullish, ending the previous period of bottoming and consolidation.
Among the 11 major baijiu products monitored today, ten rose and one fell, with only Crystal Jiannanchun seeing a slight decline, giving winners a clear advantage. On the upside, Feitian Moutai and Fine Moutai both rose by 6 yuan per bottle, with the two major Moutai products advancing together. The national average retail price of Feitian Moutai reached 1,775 yuan; after the official price hike, Feitian Moutai has maintained a stable position in the high-end range. Wuliangye Yibin Co.,Ltd.’s Pu Wu Eighth Generation edged up by 1 yuan to 791 yuan, following yesterday's gain, supported by fundamental factors such as tightened channel subsidies and dealers' cautious inventory control. Wuliangye 1618 surged by 7 yuan, reinforcing its strength. Guojiao 1573 rose by 4 yuan, with the two strong aroma leaders jointly pushing higher. Yanghe Dream Blue M6+ jumped 9 yuan, taking the top spot for daily gains. Qinghua Lang increased by 6 yuan, reversing its previous downtrend. Qinghua Fen 20 and Gujing Gong Gu 20 both rose by 7 yuan, with the former's terminal price reaching 379 yuan, as the clear aroma leader followed the broader market recovery. Xijiu Junpin gained 4 yuan, ending its decline, with multiple famous baijiu brands all rebounding together today.
On the downside, only Crystal Jiannanchun fell slightly by 2 yuan, with a single product's minor pullback failing to drag down the overall baijiu market's upward momentum. The daily data from "Liquor Price Insider" is sourced from approximately 200 collection points rationally distributed across major regions nationwide, including but not limited to designated dealers of baijiu enterprises, social dealers, e-commerce platforms, and retail outlets. The raw sampling data represents the actual transaction terminal retail prices from each point over the past 24 hours, aiming to provide an objective, scientific, and fully traceable dataset on the market prices of major baijiu products. Since the official iMoutai platform began selling Feitian Moutai at 1,499 yuan per bottle on New Year's Day (raised to 1,539 yuan on March 31, and further to 1,639 yuan on July 18), and Fine Moutai at 2,299 yuan per bottle on January 9 (raised to 2,359 yuan on May 16), this new channel's magnetic influence on the terminal average retail prices of both products has gradually become apparent. The daily prices published by "Liquor Price Insider" follow a calculation rule weighted by actual transaction volume, and we have incorporated measurable prices from this channel into the calculation of terminal retail prices for both products.
In key baijiu industry news, a self-media outlet published a commentary titled "Wuliangye Wholesale Prices Rebound, Is Baijiu Forming a 'Bottom'?" focusing on the event of multiple dealers raising Wuliangye wholesale prices on August 6, and analyzing the market signals behind the simultaneous strengthening of Moutai and Wuliangye in the second half of 2026. Industry experts indicate that after a round of industry adjustments, pain points such as baijiu inventory buildup, price inversions, and thin channel profits have gradually eased. Leading baijiu brands have successively raised prices, releasing clear signals of market repair. However, the article also warns that the end of the industry's toughest destocking cycle does not signify a full recovery for the baijiu market. Combining insights from Goldman Sachs research reports, the article suggests that the current phase is merely a bottoming process rather than a trend reversal, with market opportunities mainly concentrated in top-tier baijiu brands and regional leaders that have first optimized their asset structures. Institutions continue to view Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd. as a core allocation in the baijiu sector. Influenced by long-term factors such as consumption habits and demographic structures, the baijiu industry may exhibit a K-shaped divergence pattern, where leading brands recover first while smaller and medium-sized enterprises continue to face pressure.
