BOC Securities released a research report indicating that since January, the industry related to the AI "Lobster" (OpenClaw, an AI agent that promotes itself as "able to help you get things done," named after its lobster mascot) has progressed rapidly. Cloud providers and large model developers have been successively integrating or incorporating the "Lobster" agent. Some companies are also choosing to develop specific, reusable functional modules at the application layer. With multiple industry players accelerating their deployments, the "Lobster" ecosystem is becoming increasingly mature. Beyond the industry level, relevant policies have been implemented, such as the Longgang District Artificial Intelligence Agency in Shenzhen releasing policies to support the development of intelligent agent startups. The AI agent direction, represented by the "Lobster" agent, is transitioning from a thematic hotspot to industrial deployment. Although the industry chain is still in its early stages, as a key link connecting large model capabilities with end-user scenarios, it is expected to propel artificial intelligence from "answering questions" to "executing tasks," suggesting investors should continuously monitor investment opportunities in large model developers, cloud service and AIDC providers, and AI agent application companies. The report noted that within just over four months of its release, the "Lobster" agent made history by becoming the fastest project to top GitHub's stargazer ranking—a leaderboard sorted by the total number of stars a project receives, measuring its popularity and community recognition—with over 248,000 GitHub stars, surpassing Linux to become the most popular open-source project on the GitHub platform. Since the agent's launch, major domestic cloud providers, including Tencent Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, China Mobile Cloud, China Telecom Cloud, JD Cloud, Volcano Engine, and Baidu Intelligent Cloud, have integrated it. By simplifying deployment processes and providing cloud-based runtime environments, these cloud providers help lower the barrier to entry for users. UCloud (688158.SH) launched a relevant image for deploying OpenClaw (Clawdbot) in late January, with related services now available on multiple overseas nodes, including in the United States, Singapore, and Japan. Some large model developers have also integrated the "Lobster" agent with their own large models. On February 26, MINIMAX-WP (00100) launched MaxClaw, a cloud-based AI assistant built on OpenClaw, directly integrated into the MiniMax Agent web interface, allowing users to deploy and run OpenClaw in the cloud without needing their own server or API Key. Recently, a beta version of Kimi Claw was launched on the Kimi website, enabling one-click cloud deployment or linking to a pre-configured OpenClaw, supporting one-click access to over 5,000 community plugins on ClawHub, including categories for development and coding, browser-related functions, office workflows, and expert roles. Driven by the Kimi K2.5 model and Kimi Claw, Kimi achieved a record since late January, generating revenue in 20 days that surpassed its total for all of 2025. On the OpenRouter model invocation leaderboard for OpenClaw, K2.5 continues to hold the top position. BOC Securities stated that the AI agent direction, exemplified by the "Lobster" agent, is undergoing a transition from a thematic focus to industrial layout. Policy support and increased industry participation provide fundamental conditions for the sustained development of AI agents. Although the AI agent industry chain is still nascent, with technological pathways and business models still being explored, its potential strategic significance and application prospects are gradually becoming apparent. As a critical link connecting large model capabilities with terminal scenarios, AI agents are poised to advance artificial intelligence from merely answering questions to executing tasks, bringing about a profound transformation in human-computer interaction. The report advises focusing on investment opportunities within the AI agent industry chain, including large model developers, cloud service and AIDC providers, and AI agent companies. The bank listed key investment targets in the AI agent industry chain, with Hong Kong-listed large model targets including BABA-W (09988), MINIMAX-WP, and KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513).
