On July 31, Gu Shu, Chairman of Agricultural Bank of China Limited and also President of the China Banking Association, met with a delegation led by Timur Suleimenov, Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, and Madina Abylkassymova, Chairperson of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market. Xing Wei, Executive Vice President of the China Banking Association, also participated in the meeting.
Gu Shu provided an overview of Agricultural Bank of China Limited's operations, noting that under the leadership of both heads of state, a broad cooperative framework has been established between the banking sectors of China and Kazakhstan. He expressed that the bank is ready to leverage its strengths to continuously enhance the level and depth of cross-border financial cooperation with Kazakhstan.
Xing Wei outlined the development trends in China's banking industry and introduced the fundamental role of the China Banking Association. He stated the association's willingness to further promote deeper exchanges between the banking sectors of both countries, thereby fostering high-quality development in Sino-Kazakh financial cooperation.
Governor Suleimenov and Chairperson Abylkassymova briefed the meeting on recent developments in Kazakhstan's banking sector and financial regulatory landscape. They expressed Kazakhstan's expectation that Chinese banks, including Agricultural Bank of China Limited, will continue to expand their operations within the country, contributing to the deepening of bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation.
Officials from the International Finance Department, the Technology and Product Management Department, and the Smart Bank Construction Office of Agricultural Bank of China Limited, as well as the Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General, Research Department, and International Department of the China Banking Association, were present at the meeting.
