BYD's SEAL U (Song PLUS) has emerged as the best-selling plug-in hybrid model in Germany for November, marking a significant milestone for Chinese automakers. This achievement represents the first time a Chinese brand has led a mainstream vehicle segment in Germany, underscoring BYD's expanding footprint in Europe.
In Germany, BYD's cumulative sales from January to November reached 19,197 units, surging 647.5% year-on-year. November alone saw 4,026 units sold, a staggering 834.1% increase, with market share rising to 1.6%.
The UK market also demonstrated strong growth, with 43,740 units sold in the first 11 months, up 488.5% year-on-year. In Spain, BYD's sales totaled 22,358 units, a 452.3% increase, while November sales hit 2,934 units (+267.7%), capturing a 19.2% market share and surpassing Tesla to lead the EV segment. Four BYD models—Seagull, Yuan UP, Song PLUS, and SEAL—secured spots in Spain’s top 10 best-selling EVs, with the Seagull ranking second overall.
Italy reported explosive growth, with 20,211 units sold (+4,878.1%) and November sales of 3,526 units, lifting market share to 2.8%. France recorded 10,982 units sold (+202.7%) through November, with 1,139 units sold in November (+72.6%).
These figures reflect BYD's broader global success. From January to November 2025, BYD's overseas passenger and pickup sales exceeded 910,000 units, including 131,661 units in November alone (+297%). Cumulatively, BYD has sold over 14.7 million new energy vehicles worldwide.
