The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has announced plans to launch a new issuer communication platform, HKEX Synapse, in the fourth quarter of 2026, marking a significant step in digitizing issuer services and regulatory communications.
Synapse will serve as the primary platform for listed issuers and their advisors to submit regulatory filings and communicate with the exchange on regulatory matters, providing a secure, centralized, and convenient two-way online channel.
To ensure a smooth and orderly transition for the Q4 launch, the registration and account opening process for Synapse will be conducted in phases.
Advisors will be able to open accounts starting in July 2026, while the account opening process for issuers will be conducted in batches from October 2026 through the second quarter of 2027.
Issuers will receive notification at least twelve weeks prior to their transition to the new platform.
Following the full transition to HKEX Synapse, the HKEX website will introduce a redesigned market information page that integrates and displays issuer information, such as management profiles, corporate actions, and other key dates.
Once issuers update their records, investors will have near real-time access to this information, further enhancing market transparency.
Bonnie Chan, Head of Listing at HKEX, stated: "The launch of Synapse is a key step in HKEX's commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of the Hong Kong market and ensuring our market infrastructure stays current. We aim to improve efficiency, strengthen regulatory communication, and increase transparency across the market ecosystem by introducing this digital communication platform, while also making it more convenient for market participants. We thank issuers and all relevant parties for their ongoing support."
