JPMorgan Chase CEO Warns of AI Deployment Outpacing Workforce Adaptation

Deep News04-06 22:20

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon stated in the company's shareholder letter that the deployment speed of artificial intelligence will surpass that of previous technological transformations and may exceed the workforce's ability to adapt.

Dimon noted, "AI will impact nearly all functions, applications, and processes within the company. Ultimately, AI is expected to shorten the average workweek in developed countries."

He added, "AI will undoubtedly eliminate certain jobs while enhancing others. In past technological shifts, the labor force had time to adjust and retrain. For individuals whose jobs are affected by AI, businesses and governments can consider options such as incentivizing retraining, offering income support, providing skill upgrades, facilitating early retirement, and assisting with relocation."
