Japanese Stock Market Declines as Technology Shares Weigh on Index

Japanese equities moved lower amid uncertainty stemming from Middle East conflicts and following overnight declines in technology stocks on Wall Street.

The Nikkei 225 index fell by 1.6%, closing at 66,396.46 points. Semiconductor-related stocks led the market lower.

Shares of Renesas Electronics Corp dropped 5.1%, Tokyo Electron Ltd declined 5.3%, and Advantest Corp decreased by 4.3%.
