The 21st China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) concluded successfully in Guangzhou from September 3 to September 6. Representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), local industrial authorities, and APEC economies sequentially inspected the provincial "Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative" exhibition zones, with the Shanghai pavilion drawing repeated visits from touring officials due to its cutting-edge AI innovations showcased under the theme "Intelligence in Shanghai, Quality in Manufacturing".
Mu Shuhui, Deputy Director of the SME Bureau under MIIT, Luo Wenshan, Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Cheng Yougen, Second-Level Inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, all toured the Shanghai pavilion. They examined displays across three main sections—embodied intelligence, digital intelligence engines, and AI-enabled industry empowerment—with a focus on core technological breakthroughs and manufacturing application scenarios presented by "Little Giant" specialized and innovative firms like Itsh ZhiHang, JAKA Robotics, and Moushen Intelligence. Officials also inquired in detail about product development cycles, market adoption coverage, and policy support mechanisms for enterprise growth.
Deputy Director Mu Shuhui commended Shanghai's practical results in cultivating specialized and innovative enterprises within the AI sector, noting that these SMEs serve as crucial vehicles for developing new quality productive forces. She remarked that Shanghai's integration of AI with manufacturing, built on its solid industrial foundation, offers replicable cultivation experience and encouraged the city to further refine its tiered cultivation system, supporting enterprises to achieve sustained breakthroughs and excellence in niche markets.
During the visit, the head of the Shanghai SME Service Development Center provided a detailed overview of the pavilion's layout and the characteristics of participating enterprises, responding to officials' inquiries on-site. In between tours, the center's leadership engaged in deep exchanges with exhibitors, learning about their participation outcomes and encouraging them to fully capitalize on the CISMEF's national-level platform to demonstrate technological prowess, expand market collaborations, and seize the development window for AI during the 15th Five-Year Plan period to continuously enhance their core competitiveness.
