From October 20 to 22, the 2026 Sustainable Global Leaders Summit was held in Shanghai. The Sustainable Global Leaders Summit is a benchmark platform with broad international influence in China's sustainable development field. Since its inception in 2021, it has built a cross-disciplinary dialogue channel connecting global governance, academic discussion, and industrial practice.

This year's summit, themed "Building a Resilient Future Together: Global Governance, Innovation-Driven Growth, and Industrial Upgrading," brought together more than 300 top guests from around the world, including representatives of United Nations-related agencies and international organizations, Nobel Prize and Turing Award laureates, executives of leading domestic and international enterprises, and experts from authoritative think tanks. They engaged in in-depth, cross-disciplinary and cross-regional dialogue on the real challenges and opportunities of global sustainable development, building cross-sector consensus and distilling forward-looking and practical sustainable development solutions.

At the "Responsible Capital and High-Quality Development" sub-forum, Mr. Hong Yongxiang, Chief Executive Officer of OCBC Bank China, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled "Building a Resilient Future Together: Governance as the Foundation, Digital Empowerment, and Cross-Border Connectivity," sharing his observations and reflections on how sustainable finance can help enterprises enhance their development resilience, drawing on OCBC Bank (O39.SI)'s extensive experience in Asia.

Mr. Hong Yongxiang, Chief Executive Officer of OCBC Bank China, shares insights as a keynote speaker.

In his speech, Hong said that as a companion on enterprises' long voyages, OCBC Bank (O39.SI) is committed to playing the connecting and empowering role of finance, accompanying clients in solidifying their foundations and seizing opportunities to move toward more stable and long-term development. Citing OCBC Bank (O39.SI)'s iconic Chinese junk ship as an example, he noted that its unique watertight compartment design both connects different sections and effectively isolates risks. For enterprises, it is similarly necessary to delineate responsibility boundaries through clear governance, prevent localized shocks from spreading through sound risk management, and form a synergy supporting overall development through coordination across business, markets, and capabilities.

He shared OCBC Bank (O39.SI)'s thinking and practices in building a resilient future together from three aspects: governance, digitalization, and cross-border connectivity.

First, building a solid development foundation through governance. Sustainable development has gradually evolved from an environmental issue into a governance issue. More and more international clients and investors are concerned not only with how much value a company creates, but also with how it creates value, how it manages risks, and how it fulfills long-term commitments. Governance not only determines how a company operates, but also determines whether capital is willing to accompany the company. OCBC Bank (O39.SI) has incorporated ESG risk assessment into its credit approval and risk management processes and supports enterprises in advancing green transformation through innovative solutions such as sustainability-linked financing.

Second, stimulating innovative momentum through digitalization. Digitalization can not only improve a company's operational efficiency, but also help it enhance its insight. Under the group's "Next Frontier" strategy, OCBC Bank (O39.SI) is advancing Asia transformation, technology transformation, net-zero transformation, and business transformation, with ADD 鈥?artificial intelligence, data, and digitalization 鈥?as core capabilities, driving a customer-centric strategy and accelerating business transformation.

Third, connecting growth space through cross-border connectivity. As a bank rooted in the overseas Chinese community and deeply engaged in Asia, OCBC Bank (O39.SI) is committed to playing the role of a bridge. Leveraging its network covering multiple ASEAN markets, as well as its Greater China Overseas Business Department and global relationship manager model, it helps clients achieve more efficient cross-border connectivity.

Looking ahead, OCBC Bank (O39.SI) looks forward to joining hands with more partners to build a solid development foundation through governance, stimulate innovative momentum through digitalization, and connect growth space through cross-border connectivity, sailing together toward a more resilient and more sustainable future.
