With the peak summer construction season underway, the Xinjiang Baoneng City project, located in the high-speed rail core area of the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), is accelerating its progress. The 288-meter super high-rise tower of the Xinjiang International Financial Center project has entered the final phase of interior finishing, with official handover scheduled for November 15 this year.
At the construction site near the intersection of Xuanwu Lake Road and Wanshoushan Street, the 288-meter primary tower and the 251-meter secondary tower have both completed their exterior curtain wall installations and have moved into the interior decoration stage. The core commercial component, the "Tianshan288" mall, is also in its final delivery push. This 200,000-square-meter shopping center is planned to open within the year.
Lin Fuqun, Deputy General Manager of Xinjiang Baoneng Investment Co., Ltd., stated that there are currently nearly 800 workers in the commercial section, with the number expected to exceed 1,000 by the end of the month. Fifteen subcontracting units are on-site, primarily engaged in mechanical and electrical installations, equipment setup, and overlapping decoration work. For the towers, standard floor equipment installation and functional area fitting-out are in progress. "The 288-meter super high-rise is scheduled for handover to the owner on November 15, while the commercial project aims to meet opening conditions by December," Lin added.
The Xinjiang Baoneng City project comprises five super high-rise buildings with a total floor area of approximately 1.7868 million square meters. The primary tower stands at 288 meters with 62 floors, and the secondary tower is 251 meters with 54 floors. The "Tianshan288" project focuses on core functions including luxury shopping, international gourmet dining, Eurasian cultural performances, and family entertainment. Other buildings, planned for offices, apartments, and hotels, have also commenced construction.
Upon completion, the project is set to establish a benchmark for integrated industry-city complexes, aiming to create a prominent business and financial hub for Urumqi, Xinjiang, and even Central Asia.
Wang Daqing, Executive Chairman of Baoneng Urban Development & Construction Group Co., Ltd. and Chairman of its Xinjiang subsidiary, noted that leasing for the commercial section is approximately 50% complete, with ongoing negotiations. The project expects to attract internationally renowned brands, while major domestic brands are being sourced from cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. The 288-meter office tower has been designated the "Xinjiang International Financial Center." "Many well-known domestic companies and Fortune Global 500 firms have expressed interest in locating here, and Central Asian countries are considering establishing liaison offices within the building," Wang stated.
