Which cities are most popular for National Day holiday travel? Big data forecast

Deep News09-30

This article is reproduced from [CCTV News Client]; mobile signaling, travel trajectories, platform bookings and other big data record ordinary people's holiday food, clothing, housing and transportation information. When this massive information is superimposed on a map, we obtain a picture of travel consumption during the National Day holiday.

Starting from September 25, light spots representing travel on the map began to light up one after another. Broken down by time, from October 2 to 5, major scenic spots will welcome passenger flow peaks; within each day, 13:00 to 16:00 is the period when scenic area crowds are most concentrated.

The movement lines extending from the map can intuitively reflect a change - during this holiday, everyone traveled farther. The Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day combined holiday with extra leave lengthened the travel window. China Mobile Wutong Data combined with AI intelligent analysis found that long-distance travel of more than 500 kilometers increased by 11% compared with the same period last year.

On transportation routes from Shanghai to Beijing, Chengdu to Xi'an, Shenzhen to Changsha, and Beijing to Shenyang, personnel exchanges were active. Long-distance travel directly stimulated destination service consumption. In Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, and Xinjiang, renting cars in different places became the choice for many people for in-depth travel, and the average daily active user scale of car rental apps increased by 43% on average compared with the same period last year.

Wherever the footsteps of travel extend, consumption vitality is released. Looking beyond national borders, cross-border travel activated two-way consumption. Booking information for domestic residents going abroad shows that holiday international roaming bookings increased by 32% year on year. Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia remained the first choice for mass outbound travel, with orders accounting for more than 60%; long-distance outbound orders to Europe, Africa, and South America increased by 45% year on year, and more and more Chinese people brought consumption overseas.

In the entire picture of travel consumption, family travel is a prominent part. The autumn vacation in primary and secondary schools gave rise to a large number of parent-child trips. The scale of tourists departing from Hangzhou increased by 40% compared with last year, of which more than half were family trips.

Not everyone rushed to popular check-in spots. Combining whole-network searches and destination reservation information, another group of people's travel choices can be seen. Arxan in Inner Mongolia, Daocheng in Sichuan, Yanbian in Jilin, and Altay in Xinjiang - these vast, sparsely populated, and beautiful places - were favored by tourists seeking relaxed travel.

Some rushed to the mountains and countryside, while others walked into history. Analysis of topic popularity and search keywords on social platforms found that discussion heat for red tourism increased by 24% compared with ordinary days. It is expected that passenger flow scale at red tourism destinations such as Yan'an, Zunyi, Shaoxing, and Zhongshan will increase by 10% compared with the same period last year.

This heat also crossed national borders. The immersive interactive experience at red tourism attractions boosted inbound tourism. It is expected that at the Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Site Scenic Area and the Zunyi Loushanguan Scenic Area, the proportion of foreign tourists will be as high as 6%. The growth rate of foreign tourists in Yibin, Sichuan; Anqing, Anhui; Zhangjiajie, Hunan; and Ili, Xinjiang is expected to exceed 55%. Inbound tourism is sinking from first-tier cities to distinctive small cities.

Big data tells us: during this holiday, we will travel farther, families will be closer, and consumption will be more diversified.
