Hong Kong Stocks Movement | WASION HOLDINGS (03393) Surges Over 6% to Hit New High as AIDC Power Consumption Soars; Smart Power Distribution Business Set to Benefit Significantly

Stock News11-11

WASION HOLDINGS (03393) rose over 6% in early trading, reaching a record high of HKD 15.27. By the time of writing, the stock was up 6.61% at HKD 15.32, with a turnover of HKD 19.93 million.

The surge follows remarks by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in a joint interview, highlighting that the AI industry's current challenge is not an oversupply of computing power but insufficient electricity to support all GPU operations. Reports indicate that North America's power grid is struggling under increasing demand.

Zhongtai Securities noted that since FY24, data center clients have driven the expansion of WASION HOLDINGS' smart power distribution business. For instance, the company has partnered with Siemens and GDS Holdings, including the latter's overseas joint venture DayOne in Singapore. DayOne's Q2 2025 power consumption reached 213MW, up 110.9% year-on-year and 49.0% quarter-on-quarter.

Additionally, WASION HOLDINGS' new factory in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, commenced operations in the first half of this year, expected to further boost its overseas smart power distribution business. During the factory's opening ceremony, the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with DayOne to deepen collaboration in the data center sector.
