During the May Day holiday, Shanghai's Pudong and Hongqiao International Airports experienced significant passenger traffic. In response, the Shanghai Airport Hotel Quality Alliance, comprising over ten hotels, enhanced its aviation-travel integration by launching upgraded services across five key areas: accommodation, dining, transportation, entertainment, and value-added benefits. These initiatives are part of the "Airport Enjoyment Season · 55 Shopping Festival" promotion, aimed at extending and securing the airport travel service chain while stimulating consumer spending.
To address the specific needs of airport travelers, hotels such as the Ramada Pudong Airport, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express now offer flexible short-stay options of 4 to 6 hours for transit passengers or those with late-night flights, allowing rest even after arriving in the early hours. Tailored for the holiday rush, the Ramada Pudong Airport introduced family-themed rooms, including options inspired by popular games and cartoon characters, featuring colorful decorations and children’s play facilities to better serve traveling families.
At Hongqiao Airport, China Aviation Hotel launched aviation-themed rooms for young travelers, offering executive lounge privileges and opportunities to win prizes like panda-themed souvenirs and dining discounts through lucky draws. Additionally, several hotels, including Holiday Inn Pudong Airport, Dazhong Airport Hotel, and Aerotel, have integrated with Shanghai Airport’s WeChat mini-program "Pule GO," enabling guests to order terminal specialties, beverages, and gifts for quick delivery to their rooms.
Moreover, multiple alliance hotels have rolled out cross-industry cultural and tourism activities. Notably, booking and service features for select hotels in the Pudong and Hongqiao alliance are now accessible via the Shanghai Airport WeChat mini-program. Members can earn points for spending at both airports, redeemable for discounts on room bookings, beverages, and fitness services through the points mall.
