Alibaba-W Shares Climb Over 3% Amid Reports Its Team Developed HappyHorse Video Model

Alibaba-W (09988) rose more than 3% in Hong Kong trading, with the stock up 3.34% to HK$127 at the time of writing. Turnover reached HK$2.914 billion. Market attention has been drawn to reports indicating that the recently discussed multimodal large model HappyHorse has registered an account on overseas social platforms, with its first follower being Alibaba Group. Previous speculation suggested that HappyHorse was developed by a team led by Zhang Di from the Future Life Laboratory under Alibaba's Taotian Group. The Future Life Laboratory has since become independent from Taotian Group and now falls under the AI Innovation Business Unit of the ATH Business Group. The anonymous model, named HappyHorse-1.0, recently took the top spot in the text-to-video (without audio) category with an Elo score of 1332, surpassing the second-place Dreamina Seedance 2.0 by nearly 60 points. In related news, Unitree's latest robot, R1, was recently spotted at Alibaba's Xixi campus, attracting considerable attention. According to internal sources, Alibaba's overseas division is preparing a global expansion project, expected to be officially launched in Shenzhen in mid-April. Additional reports indicate that the project may be implemented on Alibaba's cross-border e-commerce platform, AliExpress, which is collaborating with brands like Unitree to launch customized deep globalization solutions and strategic-level initiatives aimed at providing more Chinese brands, especially Tmall brands, with overseas expansion strategies.
