On August 18th, mainland Chinese equities experienced a volatile downward session, with all three major indices opening lower and extending losses into the morning. The ChiNext Index fell by nearly 1%, while specific segments of the semiconductor supply chain remained buoyant. Semiconductor silicon wafer concept stocks rallied, glass substrate plays gained momentum, and the agriculture sector posted notable gains. Conversely, energy equipment, oil and gas, coal, and shipping stocks advanced, while AI applications, aerospace and defense, and biotech sectors came under selling pressure.

Shares of Shanghai Precilasers Technology Co.,Ltd. (SH: 688826) skyrocketed by nearly 500% at the market open on its first day of listing, generating an estimated paper profit of approximately 456,600 yuan per lot, setting a new record for first-day returns in the IPO market.

Hong Kong stocks opened lower and continued to slide, with both the Hang Seng Index and the Hang Seng Tech Index declining. The latter dropped more than 1%, dragged down by heavyweight tech names, with JD.com and Meituan each falling over 2%. AI large-model leaders suffered steep losses, with Zhipu tumbling over 11% and MINIMAX down nearly 10%. In the bond market, treasury bond futures posted broad gains. In commodities, domestic futures were mixed, with fuel oil and crude oil leading the advance.

A-Shares: As of writing, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.07%, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.58%, and the ChiNext Index declined 0.79%.

Hong Kong Stocks: As of writing, the Hang Seng Index slipped 0.58%, while the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 1.23%.

Bond Market: Treasury bond futures rebounded across the board, with the 30-year main contract up 0.31%, the 10-year main contract rising 0.04%, the 5-year main contract gaining 0.04%, and the 2-year main contract adding 0.02%.

Commodities: Domestic commodity futures were mixed, with crude oil and fuel oil leading gains. Bitumen, the containerized freight index, and soybean meal all rose over 1%, while lithium carbonate, coke, ferromanganese, platinum, Shanghai gold, coking coal, Shanghai silver, stainless steel, rapeseed, hot-rolled coil, caustic soda, and rubber moved higher. On the downside, pulp, Shanghai nickel, rebar, glass, Shanghai aluminum, polysilicon, industrial silicon, palladium, and alumina saw declines.

At 09:51, the Hang Seng Tech Index expanded its intraday decline to 1%. Zhipu dropped over 12%, while MINIMAX fell more than 9%.

At 09:38, Zhongji Innolight's Hong Kong-listed shares rose as much as 3.9% in Tuesday morning trading, hitting a record high since its listing.

At 09:36, robot concept stocks saw a sudden surge in early trading. Rongtai Co., Ltd. hit the daily limit up, following Zhengyu Industry's third consecutive limit-up. Rifen Co., Ltd. also hit the limit, with Yatai Co., Ltd., Shanghai Weiwei New Materials, Shiyu Circuit, and Fengguang Precision following the uptrend.

PCB concepts remained active, with Jinlu Electronics rising over 13%, Ruifeng High-Tech Materials up over 10%, and Xunjiexing, Xianfeng Holdings, and Ping An Electric following gains.

CPO concepts also stayed active, with Sinosei Technology hitting a 20cm limit-up for the third consecutive session, following Jinzi Ham's limit-up earlier. Sinosei approached a 20cm limit-up, with Youxun Co., Ltd., Xunjiexing, Lianxun Instruments, and Sinomach Precision Electronics following the rally.

At 09:28, new listing N-Precilasers debuted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market, surging 488.61% at the open to 1,100 yuan, giving it a total market capitalization of 44 billion yuan. Per-lot profits exceeded 450,000 yuan.

Shanghai Precilasers Technology Co., Ltd., established in November 2017, is primarily engaged in the R&D, production, and sales of precision lasers. Its products mainly serve quantum technology, semiconductors, and frontier scientific research, supporting the localization of related industrial chains in China. The company has achieved independent R&D of key technologies across the entire laser chain, establishing a comprehensive technical system.

In this IPO, Precilasers publicly issued 10 million ordinary shares, accounting for 25% of the post-offering total share capital, at an issue price of 186.88 yuan per share, with a price-to-earnings ratio of 49.42 times.

After deducting issuance expenses, the net proceeds will be invested in the precision laser system industrialization construction project, R&D center construction projects, the Wuhan R&D center project, and supplementary working capital. The funds will further enhance the company's industrialization capabilities and technological R&D strength, supporting its long-term strategic goals.

At 09:26, the Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.08% lower, while the ChiNext Index fell 0.25%. Pharmaceutical commerce, space photovoltaic, AI applications, and fintech concept stocks weakened, while oil and gas, memory, industrial metals, nuclear power, and CPO concept stocks strengthened.

At 09:21, the Hang Seng Index opened 0.33% lower, with the Hang Seng Tech Index down 0.28%. JD.com, Xiaomi, and Meituan led declines, while Baidu and XPeng posted gains.
