On January 13, Liu Jun, President of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), met with Sergio Ermotti, Chief Executive Officer of UBS Group. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on a range of topics, including the macroeconomic and financial landscape, the development and application of technological innovation, the internationalization of the renminbi, and ways to strengthen business cooperation. Both ICBC and UBS Group are globally systemically important banks and have maintained close collaboration across numerous fields.
They agreed to continue leveraging their respective strengths to further deepen cooperation in areas such as asset management, wealth management, financial markets, investment banking, and financial technology. This enhanced partnership aims to jointly provide high-quality financial services to global individual, corporate, and institutional clients, thereby contributing to better connecting China with international markets and promoting comprehensive financial cooperation between China and Europe. UBS Group is one of the world's largest wealth managers and is also a member of the Belt and Road Bankers Roundtable (BRBR).
