Stock Track | KB LAMINATES Soars 5.07% Intraday on Profit Alert and Oversold Rebound Amid PCB Sector Recovery

Stock Track08-04

KB LAMINATES (01888.HK) surged 5.07% during intraday trading on Tuesday, demonstrating a sharp recovery after a period of heavy selling pressure.

The rally was fueled by the company's positive profit alert issued on July 30, in which it projected first-half net profit to exceed HK$2.8 billion, representing year-over-year growth of over 200%. The stellar performance was primarily driven by tight supply conditions for copper-clad laminates and upstream materials—including electronic fiberglass yarn, electronic fiberglass fabric, and copper foil—resulting in broad-based price increases alongside higher sales volumes. The company noted that supply shortages are intensifying further.

The stock had previously surged to HK$36.5 on July 31 following the profit alert, but subsequently reversed sharply as major shareholders sold into strength, with an intraday amplitude exceeding 20%. After consecutive sessions of decline that pushed shares to the HK$28-29 range, the current rebound is supported by the solid earnings outlook and a broader recovery in the PCB sector, with peers like Kingboard Holdings also trading higher.
