On December 18, 2025, the national agricultural product production-marketing对接 event for former poverty-stricken regions concluded in Huizhou, Guangdong, showcasing how technology is driving agricultural products from these areas to "break through." The event featured nearly 10,000 specialty agricultural products from 832 formerly impoverished counties across China, with technological advancements in agriculture taking center stage.

Space-bred soybeans, vegetables, and fruits, cultivated in regions like Hailun, Heilongjiang, and Guiding, Guizhou, demonstrated significantly enhanced disease resistance alongside improved quality and yield. Meanwhile, Ningxia beef achieved next-day fresh delivery from northwestern pastures to dining tables nationwide, supported by a weekly network of over a dozen air routes, smart cold-chain logistics, and digital breeding technologies.

Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the central government has allocated 850.5 billion yuan in rural revitalization funds, prioritizing industries that connect farmers with markets and boost incomes in formerly impoverished regions. Through targeted initiatives to upgrade local specialty industries, all 832 counties have developed two to three leading industries, generating a total output value exceeding 1.7 trillion yuan. Three-quarters of the formerly impoverished population now benefit from partnerships with modern agricultural enterprises.

In the first half of this year, the per capita disposable income of farmers in these counties reached 8,451 yuan, growing at 6.6%—0.4 percentage points higher than the national rural average.
